Shin Splints start as a dull ache in the shin and lower leg area and can intensify to an extreme pain in the lower leg. Most often people are affected who play sport that requires lots of stopping and starting or who runs.
Shin Splints are a sign of injury and you will need to rest to overcome the injury for around two weeks. If you are keen to exercise during this period then walking, swimming or cycling are best. If you are experiencing shin splints you may want to consider supportive shoes or insoles to reduce the risk and keep you active at your favourite sport.
Our custom insoles and specialist training shoes can keep you active and pain free.
